How Many Do I Need?

How Many Diapers Are Enough?

For younger babies (under 6 months) I highly recommend 20-30 diapers. This will get you through washing every 2-3 days.

If you baby is a heavy wetter... lean towards 24 diapers.

Breastfed babies often "go" much more than formula fed babies.

For older babies (over 6 months) I recommend 18-20 diapers. This is what I use, and I wash every 3rd night.

What Accessories Are Essential?

Cloth diapers go hand in hand with cloth wipes. I suggest having one wipe per diaper.

I recommend having two pail liners to use in rotation. One is "enough", especially if you are trying to save money.

You will need 1-3 wetbags, depending on how much you leave the house. Wet bags are essential to put dirty diapers in when not at home. They are smell and water proof. When you get home, just toss them in the diaper pail.

I recommend having a diaper sprayer, but that is my personal preference. I know many people who do just fine without one. If you baby is only breastfeeding, it is not essential.

I have one Sudzy Baby Foaming Organic Wipe Solution that I pump directly on a wipe when changing. My bottle has lasted me three months, and it's 3/4 full.

I also recommend having a few of the Sudzy Baby balms and creams. Even though 99% of babies in cloth diapers do not have ANY skin irritations, they are just heavenly on little bums!
